Blue Monday

Yesterday was Blue Monday.
The day that’s labelled as the most depressing day of the year.
Low motivation, big goals feeling far away, and that familiar voice saying “I’ll start tomorrow”. And honestly, I get it. Blue Monday is exactly when leadership matters most. Not leading others, but leading yourself. Doing the right thing when motivation is low. Keeping standards high when no one is watching. It’s also about the environment you put yourself in. Who you listen to. What content you consume. Whether your surroundings push you forward or quietly pull you backwards. And most importantly, the long-term perspective. My CEO told me he is currently working towards a goal of 1 million steps in 90 days. I instantly thought that sounds unachievable, and when you say it out loud. Almost overwhelming. But when you break it down, it’s roughly 11,111 steps per day. That’s it. One walk. A bit of intention. One daily commitment. No magic. No motivation hacks. Just consistency.
This is why setting daily tasks tied to an ultimate goal is so important. Big goals don’t get achieved on the days you feel unstoppable, they’re achieved on days like yesterday. Blue Monday days. Low energy days. Ordinary days. You don’t need to win the year today. You just need to win the day. If today feels heavy, keep it simple. Do the next right thing. Stick to the daily task. Trust the long term plan.
Momentum doesn’t come from feeling good. It comes from simply showing up.

When I first entered real estate, I didn’t feel “ready” for multimillion-dirham conversations.
