When I moved to Dubai, I had zero experience in real estate. I came from running my own businesses in the Netherlands, so I understood work and discipline, but real estate was completely new to me. What drew me here was simple: opportunity. Dubai always stood out for its safety, service, and the level you can reach if you’re willing to put in the work.
I knew from the start it wouldn’t be easy. My first month was tough, new city, new routine, long hours, and adjusting to a completely different environment. One of my biggest challenges was building structure in my life. I went from working for myself to a full routine, and at times it felt like I was working 24/7. But I stayed focused.
I started in rentals, and those 7 months shaped everything. I handled all kinds of situations, learned how to deal with different clients, and built real experience. From day one, my goal was sales. So while doing rentals, I was already preparing, studying listings, learning the market, and getting ready. When the time came, I stepped into sales confidently.
Becoming #1 in Dubai Harbour came down to consistency and presence. I listen to my clients, understand what they truly want, and go the extra mile, even when it’s tough. Living in the area also helped me build real connections and trust within the community.
Closing major deals in my first month in sales wasn’t luck, it was built on the foundation from rentals. My focus has always been simple: make clients feel heard, comfortable, and confident.
For anyone thinking of making the move, be prepared. This market demands consistency, honesty, and discipline.
Looking back, my journey has been challenging, but 100% worth it.
